Teens Art of Diaspora with Happiness projects is a wholesome art-making session that engages both hands and minds of young adults. It is interactive and enriching. This session is not limited to creating things, but also challenging minds and motivating young participants through stories woven around the process of making, and insight into the art making of other youths from cultures beyond our shores and the stories of artists who inspire the arts of the diaspora. we also explore how the arts of other cultures influence our cultures.
Art of the diaspora projects combines the technique of contemporary and traditional ethnic art-making in combination with western art process to fabricate unique works of art. This project familiarizes participants with art from other cultures around the world, It encourages interactions, builds knowledge on cultures, and teaches skills for using arbitrary and/or unconventional materials the creation of art.
Materials are provided for each participant. The workshop runs from 2 to 3 hours depending on the project for the day. Material fees are usually included in the estimate for the workshop.
